According to Dr. David Jockers, the person’s weight should define the amount of the salt to be used for a detox bath. For a standard size bathtub, you need to have 30 gallons of water and:
½ cup of salt (for children under 60 lbs)
1 cup of salt (for people between 60 to 100 lbs)
1 ½ cup of salt (for people between 100 to 150 lbs)
2 cups of salt (for people between 150 to 200 lbs)
If you are doing this for the first time, start only with Epsom salt and then add some Himalayan salt.
You should not use any of these salts in case of open wounds, burns, and cardiovascular problems or pregnant.
Firstly, rub the bathtub in order to remove the dirt from it and then fill it with warm water of 37 degrees Celsius (or 97 degrees Fahrenheit). Don’t add any shampoos, soaps, or essential oils. As soon as you use the salt bath, don’t rinse – just use a dry towel.
Before soaking your body in a detox bath, you should have consumed a healthier and lighter meal. Moreover, you should have drank a lot of water in order to be hydrated. You can drink a bottle of water while you are soaking in the bath, as well! To relax even more, you can listen to some relaxing music. Soak in this bath for at least 30 minutes so your body has enough time to absorb all of the minerals from the salts.
